History of Ktírio

Ktírio is a medium-sized national retailer that has been in business since 1981. It was founded by brothers-in-law Aaron Michaelson and Spiros Lentakis, who had a vision for a new type of retailer that offered value products with great service at reasonable prices. 

In 2010, Bayham Capital sold their interests to a private equity group, Granville Capital. In 2012, the new group, who was consolidating their retail portfolio, acquired 90% of the equity from Michaelson and Lentakis. Both stayed on the board of directors as advisors. A new management team was brought in soon after the buy-out and the last several years have been very successful for the Ktírio, Granville Capital team, and its investors, as they had an initial public offering in 2015. The proceeds of the offering have been used to selectively open new stores and to support their emerging eCommerce business.
